Mississippi meth labs up   

MS - Petal narcotics investigator Jason James spends much of his time immersed in drug stakeouts - hunting methamphetamine manufacturers, dealers and users.

Like many investigators, James is working harder to curb the state's illegal drug activity, which officials say has risen due to an increase in meth labs.

County's remote location ideal for meth activity

Tavares, FL - A reputed "meth chef" whose trial begins today in Lake County faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted as a habitual offender of making the drug that a prosecutor says has become a county scourge.

Lake County deputies have broken up more than 40 illegal "labs" this year in garages, motel rooms, sheds and remote trailers where detectives found the addictive, powerful and potentially toxic drug brewing.

Man given 50 years for making meth

KY - A Laurel County jury sentenced Patrick Wayne Sizemore Thursday to 50 years imprisonment on a charge of making methamphetamine.

Sizemore’s Feb. 16 arrest was his second apprehension for making the drug.
