Man gets nearly 18 years for trafficking in meth   

San Diego, CA - The third brother involved in a methamphetamine-trafficking ring was sentenced to nearly 18 years in prison yesterday in federal court in San Diego, officials said.

Andres Chavez-Chavez pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine on June 17, 2008.

Chavez-Chavez admitted leading an organization that distributed at least 220 pounds of methamphetamine from spring 2006 until May 2007, officials previously said. Along with his brothers, Salvador Chavez-Chavez and David Chavez-Chavez, he brought in the drugs from Mexico and distributed them in San Diego County, officials previously said.

The brothers also pleaded guilty to drug charges and have been sentenced.

Meth hidden in baby's diaper

Sidney, MI - A Montcalm grandmother and her boyfriend are among five adults charged in connection with a meth bust last Wednesday. A grandson present at the time of the drug raid was found with drugs in his diaper later.

Members of the Central Michigan Enforcement Team raided the Sidney home, finding meth and equipment to make it in the house and in a van parked in the driveway.

Traffic stop nets 15 pounds of meth

Mesa, AZ - Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies found 15 pounds of methamphetamines during a traffic stop in Mesa Monday afternoon.

The discovery was made at about 3 p.m. in an older model Honda near the US 60 and Higley Road.
