Border agents find smuggled drugs
South County, CA - More than $3.6 million in marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine was confiscated at ports of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers over the weekend. Authorities also stopped 267 individuals from illegally entering the country, including four adults attempting to cross in San Ysidro hidden in compartments under the seats of a pickup.
The four individuals were caught at 3:45 a.m. Friday when authorities inspected a 1995 Ford F-150 truck driven by a 29-year-old U.S. citizen.
Two die after meth chemical theft attempt
IN - Authorities believe two people killed in an early morning wreck near Tennyson, Ind., on Monday crashed while fleeing the scene of an attempted anhydrous ammonia theft.
The men — identified as 31-year-old Ronald Jason Baker and 19-year-old Robert Eli Waters Jr. — were pronounced dead at the accident scene on Eames Station Road near Indiana 62.
Children found in home with meth lab
Town of Scott, WI - Police found two children Sunday in the home of a Merrill-area couple suspected of operating a methamphetamine lab, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department.
Chuck A. Groff, 38, and his wife, Kathryn I. Groff, 40, were arrested Monday and are expected to make an appearance today in Lincoln County Circuit Court on charges related to methamphetamine production, according to the Sheriff's Department.
Woman on drugs tries to leave with kids
KY - A Corbin area woman tried to pick up her two children from their father while apparently high on drugs, according to the Corbin Police Department.
The mother, Erica Fox, was among four people arrested on drug-related charges near Advance Auto Parts located near U.S. 25 East in Corbin, police said.
