Meth treatment program loses a funder

MI - Gun Plain Township has decided not to contribute to help keep the county’s meth diversion program in existence.

The program, run out of the Allegan County Jail, treats methamphetamine users and is being looked at as a model program, but the state grant that funds it is ending. Allegan County, which is in the midst of cutting its own budget due to falling property tax revenues, has not appropriated money to continue the program.

Six 'shake and bake' meth labs found in home

OK - Police saw something to give them concern Monday morning as they were serving arrest warrants at a 210 E. Fort Worth St. residence.

That observation led to a search warrant consent to seize six “shake and bake” meth labs from the bedroom of the home occupied by Jerry Lawrence Jr., 46, according to the report.

Woman neglected kids to smoke meth

Longview, WA - A woman is accused of allowing her three young children to live in squalor while she smoked meth.

At the request of Longview police, a Kelso officer arrested Carrie Lynn Pena, 30, a transient who recently lived in Longview, when she arrived for a meeting Tuesday afternoon at Child Protective Services.
